ShoparoundWith a promise to deliver designer looks to Irish homes, Dunnes Stores has teamed up with Irish fashion designer Paul Costelloe to create a new homewares collection.
Available from this week in 16 selected stores nationwide, the Paul Costelloe Living Collection is designed exclusively for Dunnes Stores and includes bedlinen, throws and cushions as well as earthenware and porcelain tableware, lamps, vases and crystal glassware.
Designed around Costelloe's chosen colour palette of muted taupe, cream, off-whites and duck-egg blue, the collection was designed with everyday living in mind but still has understated elegance.
Oversized pieces are a notable feature of the range. Lamps are large, bowls are big, jugs are generous and plates are sizeable. The glamour of the catwalk has been brought to some pieces in the collection. Lamps, vases and cushions feature Paul Costelloe fashion sketches.
The designer's stamp of approval is on each piece - Costelloe was involved in all stages of the design process, from the initial dealings with suppliers through to the final production phase and has visitedall of the factories in Europe where the collection was produced.
The bedlinen is 100 per cent cotton, has been yarn dyed where possible and is available in four ranges. Double bed duvet covers cost €55, pillow cases,€12. Matching towels cost from €10 and throws, available in luxurious wool or mohair, from €75.
Ceramic lamps and shades are available from €60.
Tableware includes a blue and a taupe earthenware range and a white porcelain range with prices starting at €5 for side plates going up to €50 for a large decorative bowl.
There is also a crystal glass range with prices starting at €25 for a set of tumblers and going up to €70 for a crystal claret jug.
Hot on the heels of the launch of the Paul Costelloe collection, Dunnes will be opening its first standalone homewares store on South Great George's Street, Dublin 2 on November 29th. Four new homewares ranges called City, Loft, Metro and Retro will be introduced in the store.
