Lord but there are hard sells and then there's this. Any agent will at some point have had a "challenging" property to shift, but a promotional brochure with the title: Unique Renovated Nuclear Bunker certainly raises the bar. That's exactly what Colliers International is attempting to sell three hours south of Atlanta in the US. Located in the rural southeast of Georgia, the 16,000 sq ft multimillion dollar home is located 45ft underground.

A doomsday bunker to call your own, it was built by the US government as a secret communications unit in 1969 at a cost of $7 million, and has recently had a further $2 million invested for more modern-day subterranean use.

Designed to withstand a 20 kiloton nuclear bomb, the revamped residence has four luxury apartments built to Four Seasons Hotel spec, a built-in home theatre – for those lonely nights in survival mode presumably – and 3ft thick walls.

With its own waste management system, and bespoke energy and water sources, the value is estimated at between $5 and $50 million.
