Fast-food joints face Corpo's consuming zeal to clean up

At last An Bord Pleanala is saying enough is enough to fast food operators in the city centre

At last An Bord Pleanala is saying enough is enough to fast food operators in the city centre. The board has just confirmed Dublin Corpo's decision not to allow Supermac's to open a burger joint at the high-profile corner of Dame Street and South Great Georges Street. The Corpo plans to clean up the stretch between Dublin Castle and Grafton Street, an area which already has too many take-aways, it says. It is already too late to stop the trend in O'Connell Street, despite the Corpo's aspirations to smarten up the city's main thoroughfare.
