ONE OF Ireland’s most popular – and best-selling – painters, Mark O’Neill has announced the launch of monthly viewings at his new gallery in Co Wexford. His latest work will be shown on the last Sunday of every month beginning tomorrow (February 27th).
The Mill House Gallery, in the grounds of his home at Kilcarry Bridge, Clonegal on the banks of the River Slaney near Bunclody, is not the easiest place to find – so use a Sat Nav or check out the detailed directions on themillhousegallery.com.
O’Neill, who is best-known for his depictions of rural Irish scenes, has recently produced portraits of local people aiming to “capture the character-filled rural face of some of my neighbours and friends and register that these people are as important as anyone in the media spotlight”.
A gallery spokesman said that because of continued turbulence in the financial markets, many individuals are increasingly looking to good quality art as a viable investment and was confident that O’Neill’s works would hold their value.
