Bonhams, London. The first dedicated auction of Iraqi Modernism . Cubist Cockerel (1955) by Shakir Hassan Al-Said (1925-2004), sold for £194,500 against an estimate of GBP £25,000- £35,000; ‘Lamea’, a portrait of the celebrated Iraqi poet and academic, Lamea Abbas Amara £176,500 (£60,000- £100,000).
