Flocks of broadcasters may be sighted in Kells

The Co Meath town of Kells seems to have special appeal to RTE broadcasters

The Co Meath town of Kells seems to have special appeal to RTE broadcasters. Ronan Collins is the latest personality to have bought a home there. He is currently negotiating on the sale of his current home a five-bed on an acre in Porterstown, for which he is seeking £875,000. The Lotto draw presenter paid less than half of that - £410,000 to be exact - at a John Farrelly and Gunne auction for a four-bedroom stone-built house at Castlemartin, about three miles from Kells. The house is within a spit of the Silver Tankard bar, halfway between Navan and Kells. Mr Collins, who likes his golf, won't be stuck for partners from Montrose when he plays on either of the two golf courses in Kells. His neighbours include presenters Myles Dungan, who grew up in Kells, and John Bowman, who have bought houses in the converted stables of the Headfort estate. Both are expected to use them as weekend homes rather than live there full-time.
