Retail leases continue to attract premiums in most primary and secondary locations. Footwear retailer The Black Boot has paid in excess of £100,000 for the leasehold interest in the former DV8 shop, at 4 Crown Alley, in Temple Bar, Dublin 2, where the rent is £57,500. Douglas Newman Good Commercial, which act as agents for The Black Boot, is e now seeking key money of £150,000 for its former premises at 18 Upper Liffey Street. The shop has a floor area of 712 sq ft and there is an office and storage space on two upper floors. The current rent of £30,000 per annum is under review.
