With the market going into its seasonal summer lull, there is little good news coming out of the auction rooms. Yesterday three Dublin properties went under the hammer and one sold - a half-acre site with a run down cottage at Loughshinny, Skerries, in north county Dublin. It made €1.26 million under the hammer through Kelly & Co.
Elsewhere, a large terraced house facing the sea at Newtownsmith in Sandycove, Co Dublin, was withdrawn from auction by Lisney, now quoting €1.95 million while 8 Seafield Road in Booterstown, a three-bedroom semi, was withdrawn at €925,000 and is under negotiation through Douglas Newman Good. In private treaty sales, Lisney has sold a large newly built house, Glenburn on Torquay Road, Foxrock for a price believed to be around €3.5 million.
