Swords is the setting for a smart new development of 71 apartments and townhouses selling this week off plans with Ross McParland. Prices start at £115,000 for a one-bedroom apartment. Carnegie Court is on North Street, a continuation of Swords Main Street, at the northern end of the town. There will be a combination of commercial and residential use on the development, which will incorporate shops, offices and a hotel, in addition to the apartments and townhouses.

In the first phase, 10 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom apartments are on offer. The plans for the development can be viewed at Ross McParland's Donnybrook offices. Sizes are generous. The one-bedroom units will measure from 510 sq. ft to 580 sq. ft, while two-bedroom apartments from 710 sq. ft to 790 sq. ft are priced from £140,000.

The apartments currently for sale will be ready for occupation by December 2000, and the entire scheme is expected to be finished by February 2001. The design of the apartment blocks has a distinctly Georgian look. They will be laid out around a grassed courtyard, with brick and paved walkways on different levels. Underground parking will be provided, with one free space for each resident.
