Hamilton Osborne King secured £380,000 at auction for Rose Hall, Drogheda, Co Louth, a four-bedroom period house standing on five acres. The agents had given a guide price of £300,000 for the Georgian house, which is presented in very good decorative order.
In Co Kildare, Colm McEvoy Auctioneers fetched £3 million for 26.5 acres of development land in Kill. The land was bought by Dwyer Nolan. A six-bedroom detached house, Thornton Lodge in Ballysax, The Curragh, Co Kildare, was withdrawn at £68,000 and is under negotiation through Columb Brazil.
In Dublin, Brian Dwyer & Partners secured £84,000 at auction for a single-storey three-bedroom cottage at 10 St Kevin's Parade, in Dublin 8. In Ashford, Co Wicklow, Harrington Lait fetched £120,000 for a two-bedroom cottage on three quarters of an acre at Milltown. Andrew J. Nolan secured £133,000 at auction for The Dowery House, a two-bedroom farmhouse on one and a half acres at Manor Kilbride, Co Wicklow.
In Co Westmeath, a 127-acre farm at Cole Hill, Kinnegad, was withdrawn at £250,000 by Raymond Potterton, which sold it later for a higher figure.
A derelict house on 35 acres at Bough, Rathvilly, Co Carlow, was sold at auction for £180,000 through J.P. & M. Doyle.
In Co Kilkenny, Priory Estates auctioned three properties in Inistioge:
A coachouse with development potential sold for £59,000;
A two-bedroom townhouse in need of renovation at Hatchery Lane made £17,000;
and The Cottage, at Mill Street, was withdrawn at £35,000 and is under negotiation.
Meanwhile, the same agent sold a three-bedroom semi-detached house at Lodges Lane, Tramore, Co Waterford, at auction for £50,000.
