Sales Results:Jennifer Guinness has sold her Howth home for close to €8 million - a third less than she had hoped to get for the 8.9-acre property. A Co Kildare businessman is the new owner of the Georgian house, from which Guinness was kidnapped in 1986.
The ordeal didn't put her off living at Ceanchor House which is one of the finest properties on the Howth peninsula, according to Adam Clarke of Savills HOK who negotiated the sale with joint agents Lisney.
The six-bedroom house, which has an indoor swimming pool, was asking €12 million last March, as the market began to falter.
Across the city in Blackrock, businessman David McKenna, one of Bertie's "dig-out" friends, is asking €7.5 million for his lavish house on Avoca Avenue after it failed to sell at a Lisney auction yestersday.
