The autumn season is off to an interesting start with the latest phase of Manor Park's Ongar Village development near Clonee, Dublin 15, offering 108 apartments and houses starting at £104,950 (€133,259). Hamilton Osborne King is handling sales.

One and two-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom duplexes and mews houses and three-and four-bedroom multi-storey terraced houses are on show. There is a bewildering variety of sizes and designs, from modern split-level terraces to brightly-painted mews houses with a traditional look.

Prices are competitive. For first-time buyers, there are one-bed apartments from £104,950 (€133,259) and two-bedroom duplexes and mews houses starting at £129,950 (€165,002). Three-storey, three-bedroom houses are priced from £154,950 (€196,750). Four-bedroom houses on four levels cost from £179,950 (€228,490) and four-bedroom split-level houses are priced from £235,000 (€298,390).

Ongar is located off leafy Hansfield Road, a short distance from the village of Clonee and 10 minutes walk from Clonsilla train station. The development of 1,250 houses on 166 acres around a village centre is named after Ongar House, which is to be preserved and fitted out as a restaurant. The Georgian mansion was formerly owned by the late Aga Khan and his film star wife Rita Hayworth.

The new scheme has been designed by architect Conroy Crowe Kelly as a self-sufficient neighbourhood. There is planning for a comprehensive range of local services including a creche, supermarket, sports facilities and a good ancillary road network.

The tree-lined public park attached to the house borders this new phase of Ongar. A scenic stretch of Hansfield Road will be pedestrianised, once an alternative road network is in place.

There are six show units on view out of 21 house-types on offer. The houses will be ready for occupation from November. Two-bedroom duplex units of 800 sq ft cost from £129,950 (€165,002) and 500 sq ft one-bedroom apartments underneath are from £104,950 (€133,259). Terraces of three and four-bedroom houses have varied roof levels and curved exterior walls. Good natural light is provided from wall-to-wall windows in the main living areas.

The 1,050 to 1,180 sq ft three-bedroom units from £154,950 (€196,750) have an open-plan sitting and eating area which could be divided off. The kitchen has solid ash units and there is an attractive oak sittingroom fireplace. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor and a striking double bedroom at the top of the house with a porthole window.

The four-bedroom terraced houses average 1,300 sq ft and cost from £179,950 (€228,490). There is a large sittingroom with timber fireplace and an entire wall of windows with French doors opening to a balcony.

The separate kitchen with solid oak units has a utility nook. On the first floor are three bedrooms, one of these en suite, and a large family bathroom. Off the landing on the next floor is a large south-facing decked balcony.
