Plans to provide a multi-storey car-park with 404 spaces as part of a mixed development off Talbot Street in the centre of Dublin have been rejected by An Bord Pleanala. Dublin Corporation had earlier turned down the scheme.

The board said it was not satisfied there was a need for short-term to medium-term car-parking to serve the development and the immediate area.

The development would, therefore, be contrary "to the balanced strategy" for the provision of multi-storey short-term parking throughout the city in accordance with the Dublin Transportation Initiative and the development plan for the area.
