A new benchmark price for a Georgian office building was set last week when Davin and Co secured £1.41 million at auction for the headquarters of the Irish National Vintners Association, at 52 Upper Mount Street, Dublin 2. The four-storey over basement building has 4,000 sq ft and a number of handsome rooms with their period features still intact. There is a mews at the rear let under a 35-year lease at £11,750 per annum. There are also 13 car-parking spaces onsite. The vintners have relocated to the former Irish League of Credit Unions offices in Rathfarmham.
Two adjoining Georgian buildings at 46 and 47 Merrion Square were withdrawn at auction by Lisney, which is now quoting £2.5 million for them. The buildings are producing £80,000 per year from a mixture of office and residential tenants. There is a double mews site to the rear.
