DTZ Sherry FitzGerald and Jackson Stops in Cork have begun marketing a new commercial development, The Square, which will form the centrepiece of an 850-unit housing scheme at Mount Oval Village in the Cork suburb of Rochestown. The Square will have a bar of almost l8,000 sq ft which is likely to sell for over £2 million, a 47,000 sq ft supermarket and eight retail units as well as a childcare centre. Though prices have not yet been fixed for the commercial units they are likely to be available at around £200 per sq ft. Brian Edwards of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald says that while price is important, they would also be looking to the calibre and experience of the operators to properly establish the concept.
