IF CHILDREN learned about architecture they could change the world around them as adults. That's the thinking of the UIA (Union Internationale des Architectes)whose Architecture and Children Golden Cubes Awards is seeking entries in the form of activities, products and events worked on since January 2007, from schools, architects and the media organisations among others.
The competition is in two stages. In the first part entries are sent to an Irish jury (comprising Fergus Finlay, chief executive of Barnardos, architects Yvonne Farrell and Martin Henchion, educator Noel O’Neill and Emma Cullinan of this parish). They will select projects to go forward to the international jury. The closing date is January 17, 2011. See riai.ie and uiabee.riai.ie for more details.
