High Rises:Dublin City Council has refused planning permission for a 13-storey tower in Phibsborough, Dublin 7, because it would represent "an arbitrary and incoherent addition" to the area.
Rejecting the proposal by developer Stateford Ltd for a development at the Old Mill bakery at Cross Guns Bridge, the council said it would be premature pending the completion of the local area plan.
Stateford Ltd planned to build 207 apartments and two townhouses on the site beside the Royal Canal in buildings mostly six to eight storeys high, apart from a 13-storey tower.
