A well-located country estate, Wyanstown House and Courtyard, at Oldtown, Co Dublin, was sold yesterday at auction for €4.7 million - well ahead of the guide price of over €3.5 million.

Coonan Real Estate Alliance handled the sale which included 94 acres of farmland. The four-bedroom house was built 12 years ago on the style and scale of a Victorian mansion.

The courtyard includes a magnificent array of two-storey cut-stone buildings and archways, some of which have been restored.

The estate is within nine miles of Dublin Airport and 14 miles of the city.
