If you're lucky enough to have a grand entrance as opposed to a hall, then it has to live up to its name.
Interior designer Clodagh Barry (01-497 2405) describes the bespoke panelled hall of The Willows as "contemporary classical in style". The panelling on either side, made from painted MDF, with walnut doors, introduces a stately feel and symmetry to the space.

A sweeping entrance needs the right floor tiles and these are Portuguese Limestone €100 per sq m to supply from Paul O'Neill Marble and Glass (01-284 9855). The company also made the Emperador marble surround for the gas fire (€1,500).
The bespoke aubergine and camel rug was made by The Dixon Carpet Company (091 552 113).
The ceiling is standard height raised in sections - by about three or four inches - to give the impression of height.
