APPLICATIONS

Location: Block A, B and C Bank of Ireland HQ (protected structure), Baggot Street Lower, Dublin 2. Proposed development: reconfigure and extend Blocks A, B and C to provide additional 15,939sq m (171,566sq ft) of space, including atrium (excluding an additional 1,443sq m/15,532sq ft of financial service and office floorspace at basement level two over lower ground floor level) to comprise an overall gross floor area of 37,295sq m (401,440sq ft). This is all over 11,529sq m (124,097sq ft) of basement space. Addition of two floors to Blocks A and C, and one additional floor over Block B, increasing Block A from nine to 11 storeys, Block C from four to six storeys and Block B from five to six storeys. Eight-storey extension to the northern facade of Block A comprising 5,420sq m (58,340sq ft) of office space. Change of use of 29sq m (312sq ft) of offices to financial services space. Provision of 555sq m (5,974sq ft) of café space; 585sq m (6,297sq ft) of retail space; 2,242sq m (24,133sq ft) of office and gallery space at lower ground floor level of Block A; 773sq m (8,320sq ft) of basement office space; new glazed atrium of 1,180sq m (12,701sq ft) to connect the three blocks to be from six to nine storeys and include gallery/exhibition space, reception areas and gardens; site works and landscaping. Location: lands at Leeson Lane and Quinns Lane, Dublin 2. Proposed development: hotel from two to eight storeys with alterations to the former Nurses Homes and the former dispensary building on site. Relocate former dispensary building from junction of Leeson Lane and Quinns Lane. Two new buildings of seven and eight storeys along north-western and south-eastern boundary of the site to combine with the former nurses home and the former dispensary building to form a new hotel. Works to the former nurses home include an additional floor; removal/addition of doors and windows to the elevations; replace roof with new floor; replace rear section of building with new element. New hotel to comprise one reception/foyer area, lounge, bar, breakfast room, 290 bedrooms at first to seventh floors, 36 car-parking spaces at basement level, landscaping and site works. Location: lands to the rear of 59-69 Drumcondra Road Lower, Drumcondra, Dublin 9. Proposed development: two residential blocks from three to four storeys with 24 units in total. Block on western boundary will be three storeys and have 11 apartments. Block on eastern boundary will be four storeys and have 13 units. Provision of 33 car-parking spaces, landscaping and site works. Applicant: Sean OCallaghan.

Location: site of the former Presentation Convent, Terenure Road West, Dublin 6W. Proposed development: 47 dwellings (14 two-bed and one three-bed apartments and 32 four-bed terraced houses). The 15 apartments are in a three-storey block and the 32 houses will be three-storeys. Provision of 86 surface car-parking spaces, public open space, landscaping and site works. Applicant: Kimpton Vale Ltd.

Location: site known as the Odeon Bar and Grill (site of the former Harcourt Street railway station), 57 Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 (protected structure). Proposed development: new two-storey over basement level free-standing glass-clad kiosk structure to comprise retail use at ground floor level, coffee shop/seating area at first floor level with associated services and storage at basement level. The structure will be 182.1sq m (1,960sq ft) and be at the northern end of the car-park/storage area to the north of the Odeon building. The structure will be accessed from Harcourt Street and have sliding windows at first floor level in the west-facing elevation on Harcourt Street; service door in the south-facing side wall accessing the service yard to the south. The proposal will also include: repaving remaining section of the enclosed car-park/storage area at the north side of the premises; alterations to the remaining car-park/storage areas and site boundary onto Harcourt Street; the northern end of the buildings front steps onto Harcourt Street to be cut back and detailed to match arrangement at southern end of steps; site works and landscaping. DECISION TO GRANT

Location: Gresham Hotel, rear 19, 20/22, 23 and 24 Upper O'Connell Street and 1-7 Cathal Brugha Street, T Wing and Lavery Wing and bounded by O'Connell Street, Cathal Brugha Street, Thomas Lane, Marlborough Street, Dublin 1. DECISION TO REFUSE

Two sectors of terraced dwellings and apartments, and one sector with three apartment blocks from four to six storeys. The 489 residential units comprises: 67 three-storey four-bed terraced houses; 40 two-storey two-bed terraced houses; 60 three-bed and 60 one-bed terrace duplex units (three storey); 72 two-bed and eight three-bed corner duplex over duplex units (four-storey). Wicklow County Council

Kildare County Council

APPLICATIONS

Location: Newtown, Maynooth, Co Kildare. Proposed development: 32 apartments over three floors (24 two-beds, six one-beds and two three-beds), medical centre and pharmacy at ground floor level, and nine retail units fronting onto Meadowbrook and Beaufield Road.
