One of the few women property developers in the Dublin market, Elaine Flynn, whose fellow director in Ruby Park is Paddy O'Donnell, has just secured planning permission for an apartment development at Altamont, on Stoney Road, in Dundrum, Dublin 14. The scheme will include 55 apartments in three blocks and five houses. Permission has also been given for the demolition of a nursing home on the site.

In Sandyford, Deane Brothers Developments has been refused planning permission by An Bord Pleanala to proceed with a scheme of 135 houses at Greenfield in Kilgobbin. Also in south Dublin, Barney O'Reilly has sought permission to demolish a cinema at Glasthule Road, Glasthule, and replace it with a 20-bedroom hotel, office complex, public bar and dining area.

Meanwhile, the planners have refused permission for a development of 12 shops and eight apartments on the site of the Paul Sexton Garden Centre at Cornelscourt in Foxrock.
