Regency Wicklow pile back on the market at £1.5 million

Back on the market this month is Glenair, a fine Regency detached house set in its own grounds in Delgany, Co Wicklow. Once owned by the O'Hagan family - the people who brought modern furniture to Ireland through their company O'Hagan Design - the house on nine acres was sold by them last year in a private deal for close on £3 million (€3.8 million).

It is now for sale on two acres, with the rest of the land, and a bit more from a neighbour earmarked for a development of 10 luxury houses. Keane Mahony Smith is quoting £1.5 million (€1.9 million) for the property, which includes a gate lodge and coachhouse, prior to auction on October 25th.

Interestingly, the property backs onto yet another Georgian pile with development land that is on the market at present. Clooneen, owned by the Arkwright family, will be auctioned by Hamilton Osborne King on October 24th. The five-bedroom house on over 1.5 acres has a guide price of £650,000 (€825,500), while the adjoining nine acres of land is valued at £1 million (€1.27 million).
