WHO said the apartment market has had its day? In Galway they are still producing top end apartments at top end prices.

Local hotelier Mary Flannery is today to launch Ladyswell, a development of 12 luxurious apartments beside the the popular Radisson Hotel overlooking Lough Atalia.

These spacious two-bedroom units don’t come cheap – the range from €675,000 to €950,00 while a single three-bedroom penthouse with over 214sq m (2,300sq ft) is priced at €1.25 million.

In fairness they have everything including walnut flooring and cream carpeting throughout, underfloor heating, expensive wallpapers, designer kitchens with Miele appliances, waterfall showers and Jacuzzi baths.

There is of course underground car parking – two spaces per apartment – and the convenience of a 12-person lift. The launch will surely test the top end of the market in Galway and elsewhere. Sales are being handled by local agent Brendan Higgins.
