One of the most pivotal commercial sites in Galway city, 1.3 acres at the Headford Road roundabout, could well set a record when it is sold by tender. Joint agents Heaslips of Galway and Philip O'Reilly of Ennis are quoting around £6 million for the site, which includes a motor garage, Texaco filling station and convenience shop as well as a showroom and car compound.
The property is strategically located on one of the busiest roundabouts in the west of Ireland, which services the main routes in and out of the city. It is beside Terryland Retail Park, Dunnes Stores, the Motor Park, the IBIS and Menlo Park hotels. The commercial zoning on the site will allow it to be redeveloped for a range of purposes. However, the owners are prepared to sell it subject to planning permission. Tenders close on February 23rd.
