Bessborough Parade in Ranelagh, Dublin 6, is a curving street of Victorian brick houses off Mount Pleasant Avenue, running up to the back of the Catholic church in Rathmines. It is a quiet, narrow thoroughfare with houses on one side only. Number Seven has been renovated with a close attention to period detail and is for sale by private treaty through Finnegan Menton, who is suggesting offers in excess of £335,000 (#425,360)

The two-bedroom home is well-maintained and more spacious than appears from the outside - the floor space extends to 1,270 sq ft. The entrance hall is decorated in a deep shade of yellow and features include coving and a centre rose, an over-door fanlight and archway, as well as a dado rail.

Off the hallway is the livingroom with an archway leading into the diningroom. Both rooms have cast-iron fireplaces, ceiling coving and period sash windows. The rooms are stylishly painted a terracotta red, and the diningroom has built-in cabinets and bookshelves.

The kitchen leads off the end of the hall. It is galley-style but with room for a table and is fitted with solid wood presses and white painted doors and has integrated appliances. The floor is cork-tiled and the wall behind the sink has blue tiles. The kitchen also has a sash window. Beyond the kitchen is a utility area plumbed for a washing machine. From here a door leads to the back garden. Off the utility room is a cloakroom.

The bathroom is on the first-floor return. This is a large room, originally a third bedroom. It is dramatically decorated in navy and white with partly tiled walls and recessed down lighting. Beyond the bathroom is a dressingroom with a hot press. This room is large enough to be used as a small study. The two bedrooms, which are both good-sized doubles, are at the top of the stairs. The main bedroom extends the width of the house. It is a bright room painted blue, and has two sash windows.

The second bedroom is to the back. The attic is accessed with a retractable ladder.

To the front of the house is a small railed gravelled garden with low-lying plants for easy maintenance. To the rear is a granite walled patio-style garden with flower-beds and shrubs. There is a shed and infra-red sensor flood lighting and garden spot lights. The house is fully-alarmed and has gas central heating. A residential disc parking scheme applies on the cul-de-sac.
