Co Meath: from €225,000A traditional scheme of new houses makes the grade in the heritage village of Kilmessan, writes Kate McMorrow
First-time buyers looking for a house rather than an apartment might be interested in Bective Lodge, a new development launching in the village of Kilmessan, Co Meath this weekend.
Sherry FitzGerald New Homes will be taking bookings at showhouses which will be open for viewing on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Sixty two, three and four-bedroom houses are on offer in this phase.
The prices are an incentive - from €225,000 for a two-bedroom terraced house of a respectable 85sq m (915sq ft).
Three-bed houses of 90sq m (969sq ft) start at €230,000. Families will target four-bedroom dormer bungalows with 150sq m (1,625sq ft) of space, priced from €395,000.
Kilmessan grew up around the former Navan to Dublin rail line and is a designated heritage village in the Co Meath development Plan. Navan is eight miles and Dublin 25 miles from the village.
Developer Drumloe Properties and architect Henry J Lyons & Co have designed the houses on traditional lines, with rendered walls, front porches and gardens back and front. Interior specification is appealing, with up-to-the-minute kitchen units, fitted wardrobes and extensive bathroom tiling from the Porcelanosa range.
Back and front gardens come levelled and seeded.
The first houses are expected to be ready by the new year, according to the agent.
