The last few houses in a small development in Swords, Co Dublin go on sale this Saturday. Parkview, off the Brackenstown Road, is a compact development of just 73 homes. With only a small number of the three bedroom semi-detached homes still available, the selling agent, Hamilton Osborne King, is opening a new showhouse this weekend. The homes have been updated to include some attractive new features. These include cobblelock front driveways, Shaker-style kitchen units and a more modern style of fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms. The remaining three-bed semis in Parkview are selling for £124,950. They have just under 1,000 sq ft but the interior has been cleverly manipulated to create an impressive sense of spaciousness. The livingroom comes with a large bay window, filling the room with light. The entrance from the livingroom into the kitchen-cum-breakfastroom has been built at an angle, which is an unusual variation on the more conventional boxy shape of new homes.
The kitchen is fitted out with Shakerstyle units, which are proving an extremely popular choice for new home buyers. Sliding patio doors lead from the breakfast area to the back garden. Half of the remaining homes have south facing back gardens.
Upstairs, the entrances to all three bedrooms are again built at an angle, creating an interesting hexagonal-shaped landing area. The bedrooms themselves are all generously proportioned. Two of them come with fitted wardrobes and the main bedroom has an en suite shower room.
There is an offer of a £1,000 voucher for carpets and a further voucher for a fridge freezer, cooker and washing machine, subject to certain terms and conditions.
Each home comes with gas-fired central heating, a cosy fireplace in the livingroom, front and back gardens levelled and seeded, decorative coving and ceiling roses in the hall and livingroom and the internal walls are plaster skimmed.
Swords is a well established and particularly popular north Dublin area. It is one of the fastest growing suburbs in the city surrounded by industries including Motorola, Celistica and computer giant Amdahl.
The centre is being extensively refurbished and Swords Castle is undergoing restoration. Just down the Brackenstown Road, there are both primary schools and Manor Mall, a handy shopping amenity. The local community school is also nearby.
Swords itself boasts a variety of shops and pubs. In addition, a stylish new shopping centre with over 70 shops and a multi-screen cinema, is due to open within the next two years. Swords is a 10-minute drive from the M50 with links to a range of road networks and it will eventually run all the way over to the Bray road.
