Pub sales dominated auction rooms last week, as the residential market went on its summer holiday. Two Dublin pubs, one in Rathmines, the other in Glasnevin, sold for over £3 million each.
The Coal Porter at 82 Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, was withdrawn at £2.4 million and sold immediately after auction for over £3 million through Gunne Commercial. In Glasnevin, Dublin 9, The Bird's Nest at 22/26 Botanic Road was also sold after auction through Gunne for over £3 million.
Another pub in Dublin 6, The Station, at 196 Lower Rathmines Road was withdrawn at auction at £1.25 million and is under negotiation through Gunne Commercial.
Outside Dublin, a residential licensed premises, The Tavern at Murrisk, Westport, Co Mayo, was sold at auction for £355,000 through Brendan Tuohy & Co.
And in Co Louth, Michael J Barry's licensed premises at Louth village, Dundalk, was sold at auction for £420,000 through Laurence C Gunne.
In Co Wicklow, a residential newsagents and off licence, Morris's Newsagency at Aughrim, was withdrawn at auction and agents Sherry FitzGerald-Myles Doyle are seeking offers in the region of £500,000.
In Dublin 1, a three-storey Victorian building consisting of a shop with basement and residential units, Arran House at 35 East Arran Street, was withdrawn at £450,000 and is under negotiation through the Property Shop.
Meanwhile in Co Cavan, a 10-bedroom hotel, The Percy French Hotel at Ballyjamesduff, was withdrawn at £625,000 and is under negotiation through joint agents Sherry FitzGerald-Royal and Padraig Smith.
In Co Wexford, a newsagency with overhead investment, the Commodore Barry at Crescent Quay, Wexford was withdrawn at auction and agent John W Corish is now quoting £725,000.
Again in Co Wexford, the same agent withdrew a restaurant with supermarket, Ivory House at Tagoat, at auction and is now quoting £550,000.
In Co Wicklow, 64 acres of agricultural land with full planning permission for a four-bedroom residence was withdrawn at auction and is under negotiation through Remax First.
