D18 gate-lodge plan opposed: A proposal by the owners of Grove House on Hainault Road in Foxrock, D18 to build a single- storey gate-lodge and car-parking space and access driveway has been opposed by Foxrock Area Development Ltd who have lodged an appeal to An Bord Pleanála.

Maurice and Theresa Leahy of Silkmore Developments got permission last year for eight apartments and nine houses.

They bought Grove House on three acres for €6.3 million. A previous planning application for 46 apartments, a terrace of eight townhouses and a gate-lodge on stilts on the three-acre site was rejected because of its scale and bulk and because it failed to respect the character of the neighbourhood.
