The plan is for 749 residential units, a crèche, community centre, sports facility, café, 10 shops, and two vehicular accesses off Aiken's Village Distributor Road. The developer will build a mix of apartments and houses on the 30-acre site in the townlands of Murphystown and Woodside.

Five parties appealed planning permission to An Bord Pleanála, including Belarmine Residents Association and Hillcrest Road Residents Association.

A TRIO OF developers is looking to add two extra floors to a €70 million apartment block on Lad Lane in Dublin 2, bringing the number of floors to nine. In February An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission to Clondean Ltd (made up of Francis Rhatigan, Chris Jones and Mark Sloan) for 83 apartments in four blocks at the 0.39-hectare former OPW site. They originally sought to build 94 apartments .

The site was purchased for €22.5m in 2004.

Locals, mainly residents of the nearby Court Apartments, objected to the scheme. The developers are about to apply to Dublin City Council to build a 30-metre building with four extra apartments. This would include a new set-back penthouse at eight floor level.
