:Two people in a queue - one turns to the other and says: "Hey Phil, remember when we were standing in line for the latest video game instead of for bread?" A young child says: "I can't wait for Christmas dinner - Momma says we're going to have squirrel instead of rat!"

These are two of the best-selling "Credit-Crunch Christmas Cards", a range of seasonal cards for the financially-challenged. Designed by artist Andrew Shaffer, all the cards feature 1930s Depression-era photographs with contemporary bubble captions. Shaffer says of his mordantly funny creations: "I think people need to laugh now more than ever. Humour is essential to make it through these times". Meanwhile, at

the Wall Street soup kitchen, the bonus-bereft financiers have a culinary problem: "They ran out of the prosciutto-wrapped shrimp and lobster bisque. All they've got is this damn Chilean sea bass and grilled asparagus again". www.cafepress.com/orderofstnick
