What's hot and what's not this week
Going up
The TowerThe play by Joe Joyce about the love/hate relationship between James Joyce and Oliver St John Gogarty starring Tom Hickey and Bosco Hogan . . . catch it again in Bewley's Café Theatre, Grafton Street, at lunchtimes until Nov 29th.
Dublin Docklands at nightWe love the blue lights twinkling along the north and south docks, and the ESB's "light box".
Tom Vaughan-LawlorHis performance in The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the Abbey Theatre is completely irresistible. Runs until Dec 6th.
ClerysWe just love to chit-chat to the always helpful staff and go up and down in the lift chatting to feisty little old ladies in headscarves. They don't make 'em like they used to.
Ice-skatingSmithfield is hardly Central Park or the Rockefeller Center, but we can use our imaginations.
Dublin Food Co-opCheck it out on www.dublinfood.coop. This market opens every Thursday (2pm to 8pm) and Saturday (9.30am to 4.30pm) in 12 Newmarket, Dublin 8.
Going down
Gas billsEvery time we hear the boiler kick into gear, we hear the kerching! of the gas man when he reads the meter.
Bad parkingWe could have parked 10 Minis in that car park space.
CookbooksJamie Oliver is too cool for school, Nigella Lawson is one hot mama and Rachel Allen is our favourite girl next door, but we can't take the heat from the pressure cooker anymore.
