BENTLEY BOASTS RECORD RESULTS:Bentley has posted record results for the nine months to the end of September. World demand for the bespoke car has been boosted by new model launches such as the Continental GTC and the Azure. Bentley's major growth has been in China, with €70 million of sales.
INDIAN INTEREST IN LAND ROVER:The technology of Land Rover, one of two luxury brands placed on the block by Ford Motor Co, makes sense for India's Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd, Business Standard said today, citing a company official. Ford said it expects to strike a deal by early next year at the latest for the two brands. Sources have told Reuters that Tata Motors Ltd, as well as Mahindra with buyout firm Apollo, and One Equity Partners, a buyout firm funded by investment bank JP Morgan, are on the shortlist.
SAFETY COMPETITION WINNERS:"Drive on the left" stickers was the winning idea in this year's Road Safety competition organised by SIMI in assocation with EU Road Safety Charter. Bernard Loughran, Dublin, suggested stickers should be handed out at ports, while runner-up Hilary Parsons from Galway called for a campaign to get drivers to test their lights regularly.
