LEXUS HAS significantly revamped its Irish prices with cuts of up to €14,120 on some luxury models, writes Michael McAleer,Motoring editor.

The new pricing structure for 2009 unveiled this week covers the entire range of models, including the hybrid cars.

Alongside the various falls in price, Lexus is also offering three years free road tax on its IS 250 Executive model and the GS 300 as part of its sales offensive for the New Year.

The price changes comes as the Japanese brand introduces a facelifted version of its IS220d model, with substantial improvements to specification. The new S Design, will go on sale from January 26th.

Mark Teevan, managing director of Lexus Ireland said the car brand was "clearly signalling to the Irish motor buying public that Lexus is a real and competitive option for them in this harsh economic climate.

"Our unrivalled package is available to them at pricing levels they have not seen before in this market and just as importantly our dealers are in a robust position to sell new models and give strong value on trade- ins," says Teevan.

"It is also important to note that the cost reductions have not come about due to a downgrading of the specifications of Lexus models as we continue to provide class leading specification across our entire range," he said.
