Routes to avoid around the country over the week ahead
DUBLIN: roadworks on N2 at Wards Cross between Ashbourne and Finglas, weekdays, 9.30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Roadworks on Enniskerry Road between the Blue Church and Ambrose Glass, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A contra-flow system will be in place. Demolition works at old town centre of Tallaght, junction of Greenhills Road/Old Tallaght Road, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m, including Saturdays. Expect minor disruption.
One-way system in Lucan village from Italian ambassador's residence on Main St to junction with Lower Lucan Road. Traffic diverted towards Liffey Bridge.
Re-alignment works on Greenhills Road between Airton Road and Old Tallaght Road. Temporary traffic lights and single lane restrictions in place - works are under way between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday. The Greenhills Road will be extended to meet junction of Tallaght Bypass.
Overnight works and temporary lights on Blackglen Road between the junctions of Ballinteer Road and Sandyford Road in the Lamb Doyles area between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., single lane traffic.
Friday, February 14th to Monday, February 17th: final weekend closure of Embankment Road, Belgard Road junction from 10 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Monday. No through traffic on the Belgard Road through the junction or on the Embankment Road at this junction. Local traffic along the Belgard Road can divert via Cookstown Estate Road, Old Belgard Road, Cookstown Road (to the Belgard Road).
CORK: a new one-way system on Patrick's Street for drainage works. Traffic restrictions in effect: northbound buses leave from Merchants Quay and no entry to Patrick Street from Grand Parade. Access from Grand Parade to Daunt Square and Cornmarket Street, traffic from Saint Peter and Paul's Place and Academy Street is only permitted to turn right. Drawbridge Street is a cul-de-sac from its junction with Perry Street, and William Street is also operating as a cul-de-sac, which means there is no access to Patrick's Street from Williams Street. Traffic diverted to Lavitt's Quay via Perry Street. Bowling Green is open for delivery purposes only. Only northbound traffic to use Faulkners Lane, with the exception of deliveries and taxis.
MEATH: races in Navan on Sunday. First race 2 p.m. and the last at 5 p.m. Expect extra volumes on the N7, Naas Dual Carriageway. The racecourse is located off the dual carriageway, about 30 minutes from Dublin.
LOUTH: roadworks on road between Baltray and Termonfeckin. Visitors to An Grianan - the College of Horticulture, Garden Centre and Adult Education Centre College - should approach via Baltray.
CLARE: contra-flow on the southbound carriageway of N18 between Clonmoney and Drumline. No entry to Hurlers Cross off N18. Only access from the new link road to Shannon. Expect some delays.
DONEGAL: part of the Pearse Road one-way in Letterkenny. This is a busy road and drivers need to be aware of signs around the area and expect delays while people get used to it.
