Routes to avoid around the country over the week ahead

DUBLIN: no DARTs between Howth and Howth junction at weekend - no trains until 9 p.m. on Sunday. Until Friday the 28th trains will stop running between Howth and Howth junction at approximately 9 p.m. A limited shuttle bus service will operate.

Roadworks on N2 at Wards Cross between 9.30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Temporary traffic lights. Junction layout works at the Longmile Road/Naas Road junction. Expect delays especially during peak times. Traffic signals in place. Inbound traffic turning right onto Longmile Road should bear left and use the two roundabout type lanes at the left of the junction.

Roadworks on Enniskerry Road between the Blue Church and Ambrose Glass between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. A contra-flow system in place, expect delays. Demolition under way at the old town centre of Tallaght at junction of Greenhills Road/Old Tallaght Road, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., including Saturdays. Expect minor disruption.

One-way system in place in Lucan village from the Italian Embassy on Main Street to junction with Lower Lucan Road. Traffic diverted away from Lucan towards Liffey Bridge. This has been causing delays in the area.

Re-alignment works on Greenhills Road between Airton Road and Old Tallaght Road; temporary traffic lights and single lane restrictions in place: works are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Saturday. When the works are completed the Greenhills Road will be extended to meet the junction of the Tallaght Bypass.

WEXFORD: on the N11, there is a stop-and-go system at the pedestrian lights on Main Street, Gorey with a diversion for traffic coming from Arklow. The stop- and-go system will be moving along the main street but will be there daily from 8.30 a.m. to 5.30pm, Monday to Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., Fridays. Expect a few holdups and the advice is to avoid the area during peak times.

CORK: restrictions on St Finbarr's Bridge going onto Washington Street. No exit from St Finbarr's Bridge onto Washington Street. Access for business only from Sharman Crawford Street. Alternative route for westbound traffic via Sharman Crawford Sreet, Clarkes Bridge, Hanover Place and Washington Street. Traffic from Washington Street will be permitted to turn left onto St Finbarr's Bridge to local businesses including St Finbarr's Car Park.

Church Road one-way from Blackrock Road to Beaumont Drive today and tomorrow from 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

New one-way system on Patrick's Street with traffic restrictions. Extra traffic to South Mall and Grand Parade during peak times.

CLARE: track improvement works on the Ennis/Limerick railway: bus transfers between Ennis and Limerick during this time.

Iarnród Éireann says there will be no change in departure times, and customers are advised to arrive at Ennis station at the published timetable times.

LIMERICK: roadworks on Roxboro Road at the roundabout, 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. daily. A stop-and-go system will be in place during these times. Separate set of works just off the Roxborough Road which operate between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, but these are not connected.
