Routes to avoid during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Forbes St closed from Sir John Rogerson's Quay to Hanover Quay, for access to a new building project. Southbound traffic diverted via Sir John Rogerson's Quay, Benson Street and Hanover Quay.
Northbound traffic diverted via Hanover Quay, Benson Street and Sir John Rogerson's Quay.
Road widening works on Howth Rd at Killester Village. Approach with care.
Until May 19th, Royal Canal Bank, Glasnevin closed from steps at Western Way to laneway between 3 & 4 Royal Canal Bank. There is no vehicular access from Royal Canal Bank toWestern Way.Pedestrians divert via alternative sides of Broadstone Park to Western Way.
LOUTH: Old Dundalk-Ardee Rd (N52) closed until May 6th 2005 for construction of Dundalk Western bypass, 1.25km (about ¾ mile) southwest of junction with Knockbridge Rd southwest for a distance of 300m (about 330 yards) within the townland of Carnanbregagh. Local access maintained. Heynestown Rd (CR165) in townlands of Gibstown and Killally for a distance of 1km (five-eighths of a mile) from junction with Old Ardee Rd and N1 Southern link Rd. Alternative route for diverted traffic to Dundalk is N52, N1 Southern Link Rd to Carrolls Junction, Dublin Rd, Hill St, Dundalk.
CAVAN: Broadband works on Navan Rd, Kingscourt, Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.
SLIGO: Safety barrier being constructed on central reserve of the N4 between Carraroe and Collooney. Lane restrictions in place. Link road between Carraroe Roundabout and Tonafortes Rd closed. Alternative route via Old Tonafortes Rd junction with N4 north of Carraroe Roundabout.
WATERFORD: Peter St is closed for urban renewal works until early June. Temporary traffic lights on N25 on Dungarvan side of Kilmeaden for pipe-laying, from 8am to 6pm each day.
KERRY: Major roadworks on Conor Pass Road between Kilmore Cross and Conor Hill viewing park mean delays, so Kerry County Council advises touse N86 between Dingle and Camp via Annascaul.
CLARE: New traffic-light system at Kilrush Road, Ennis, about 200m (220 yards) on Ennis side of Ballybeg Road junction). Allow time for minor delays. System will let Ennis Bypass construction traffic cross N68 safely.
LIMERICK: Resurfacing on N21 in Newcastle West. Single lane traffic, stop-go system from 8am - 6pm; road is open overnight.
CORK: The Point Road, Crosshaven, is closed from the entrance to the new Eastern Car Park to entrance to Piper's Yard, for Crosshaven Sewerage scheme. Access for residents maintained, via Camden Rd and Point Lane.
Traffic restrictions at the Jack Lynch Tunnel for repair works. The southbound bore is closed, and the northbound bore has a contraflow from 8pm to 7am Monday to Thursday, and from 7am Saturday until 6pm on Sunday. At all other times the tunnel will operate normally, subject to traffic calming and speed restrictions.
Watercourse Rd closed outbound from O'Connell St to Blackpool Bridge. Use alternative route.
