Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN: Traffic will not enter Kilshane Road at Kilshane Cross, for work on realignment of Kilshane Road where it adjoins the new N2 - Finglas to Ashbourne Road.
KILDARE : Oxegen Music Festival at Punchestown Racecourse, Naas on Saturday and Sunday.
Expect major disruption on N7 from Friday until Sunday.
From Dublin: M50 exit on to N7 Junction 9. At R445 Junction with M7 branch left on to R445. Continue towards Naas on R411. At first set of traffic lights, turn left, signposted for Blessington and Punchestown R410, for approx. 3km and turn right at crossroads (5 road junction).
From Cork: N8 from Cork follow signs Dublin N8. N8 Cashel - N8 Urlingford - N8 Johnstown - N8 Durrow. N8 Abbeyleix towards Portlaoise, join M7. At roundabout take 4th exit to join M7 (signposted Dublin). N7 End of Motorway. Forward N7 and on to Monasterevin Bypass, on to Kildare Bypass, to join M7. Leave motorway on to R411 towards Naas, until T-junction with traffic lights. Turn right, signposted for Carlow, second left signposted Ballymore Eustace, for approx. 2km until four crossroads. Turn left on to unclassified road: Punchestown is 300 yards on right hand side.
From Belfast: N1 Border - Forward N1. N52 Junction with N52/R173. At roundabout 2nd exit N52 into Dundalk bypass. M1 Junction with M1. Join M1.Toll Plaza (car €1.60). M50 Junction with M50 (Dublin outer ring road). Branch left (signposted M50 Southbound) at roundabout take 3rd exit M50. West Link Bridge (Toll - car €1.80). From M50, exit on to N7 Junction 9. At R445 Junction with M7 branch left on to R445 continue towards Naas on R411.
At first traffic lights, turn left, R410. Continue approx. 2 miles turn right at crossroads (5 road junction). Punchestown Racecourse on this road (Woolpack Road) after 1 mile on the left handside. There are two racecourse entrances.
Until next Wednesday, major road works on the N4 at Cloncurry Cross (approx. 1 mile east of Enfield) between 9pm and 6am daily.
LAOIS: Irish Prison Service Charity Cycle on Friday at 9am from Portlaoise. Over seven days, 50 cyclists will go through Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford, Wexford, Carlow, Dublin, Meath, Westmeath, Mayo. Galway and return to Portlaoise.
LIMERICK: Right-hand lane on Henry Street between Lower Cecil Street and Bedford Row decommissioned for demolition and reconstruction works at Bedford Row and Savoy Complex.
Footway along Henry Street, between Shannon Street and Bedford Row also closed to pedestrians.
WATERFORD: From today until until Saturday, The Tall Ships Race will be in Waterford city. Major delays likely.
The Quays (main N25 route) closed to all traffic. Diversions: Rice Bridge to up Bridge Street, Summerhill, Military Road, Morrissons Road, Cannon Street, Inner Ring Road to N25. (Traffic to and from Cork enter and exit).
Traffic will go up the Folly on to Upper Grange Road, Grange Road and to Regional Hospital.
CORK: Today, tomorrow and Friday, the Jack Lynch Tunnel and Little Island Access Rd will close each night from 8pm until 7am for routine maintenance work.
Western slip road from South Douglas road to South City Link Road closed from 9.30am to 8pm for works on bus priority lane.
