Routes to avoid around the country
DUBLIN: Due to Port Tunnel Works, there will be road closures along the M1 in coming weeks: From 10pm today until 6am tomorrow, M1 from Coolock Interchange to Shantalla Bridge will be closed both ways; from midnight Fri July 29 until midnight Sat July 30, the M1 will close northbound from Coolock Interchange to Shantalla Bridge, from midnight Sun July 31 until midnight Mon August 1, M1 will close southbound from Coolock Interchange to Shantalla Bridge
Yellow Walls Rd, Malahide closed at Millview Rd/Sea Rd junction for resurfacing. Diversions via Swords/Malahide Rd and Estuary Rd.
MEATH/DUBLIN: Swords - Ashbourne Road closed for road works on N2 at Nine Mile Stone (south of Ashbourne).
MEATH: New traffic layout on N2 at Nine Mile Stone. N2 and R125 Ratoath Road Junction affected. The R125 Swords Road Junction is closed.
Traffic lights on Enfield By-Pass, 300 metres north of Edenderry/Enfield Junction for new roundabout as part of Kilcock to Kinnegad By-Pass. East and westbound traffic should divert through Enfield.
GALWAY: Roadworks on N18 approaching Gort (Kiltartan area) in both directions. Galway races until July 31st - Galway Race course is at Ballybrit, off Bothar na dTreabh in Galway city.
KILDARE: Works at Castledermot finished until Tuesday, 2nd August. When they restart, traffic will be single lane.
LAOIS: Roadworks on N7 between Borris-In-Ossory and Pike of Rushall, from 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8 am to 3pm each Saturday.
OFFALY: Roadworks on N80 Moate to Tullamore Rd from Monday to Thursday.
SLIGO: Diversion in area south of Hughes Bridge (Queens Store Road), to allow the tie-in of new Inner Relief Road with the bridge. Local diversions via Lynn's Place, Pirn Mill Road and Ballast Quay.
LIMERICK: The L1144 Rosbrien Rd closed for laying of foul sewer pipeline. This is a 24 hour closure.
CLARE: Works on N18 south of Bunratty. Both carriageways single lane - allow extra time travelling to Shannon Airport.
TIPPERARY: Works on N24 Cahir/Tipperary Road at Ballydrehid, 4 km west of Cahir. Drive with extreme caution.
WATERFORD: The Spraoi Festival takes over the city of Waterford for the weekend - Spraoi parade is on Sunday evening. Expect delays.
KERRY: Road from Currans Cross to Currans Village is closed. Diversions are in place.
Works on N70 from Steelroe to Kilderry. Traffic control system: drive slowly, expect delays.
CORK: Beach Road, Passage West, closed for construction work and service connections.
Alternative routes - east and west via R610, Main Street in Passage West.
