Few things say you came of age in the late 1980s/early 1990s more than wearing a T-shirt with a song lyric printed on it

Few things say you came of age in the late 1980s/early 1990s more than wearing a T-shirt with a song lyric printed on it. Peter O'Connell and Niall McCormack designed Singular Statements shirts after they worked on McCormack's recent book Where Were You? Dublin Youth Culture and Street Fashion 1950–2000. They plumped for lyrics "evocative and meaningful on their own, irrespective of whether the wearer or viewer knew the song or band". Come As You Are is the Nirvana T-shirt it's okay for dads to wear.
