I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattooby Steig Larsson; as someone who isn't normally a crime fiction fan, I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy it or not, but I'm very much gripped by it now and, to be honest, I'm finding hard to put down.
I can never read more than one book at a time and I really admire those that can. I have also been known not to finish books, although if I’m really not enjoying it, I’ll usually give it a good few chapters before I throw in the towel. I will usually read something if it comes highly recommended by a friend, or if I am given a book to read from someone who knows me well. I believe in things happening for a reason, so if someone encourages me to read a particular book, I’ll usually give it a go.
I like to try authors and genres that I might not normally go for, and I find more often than not that I'm pleasantly surprised. For instance, I've never read
Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, so I'd love to get stuck into that. But only after I'm done with
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
