If you think an organisedfestival of urban culture might seem to go against the anarchic ethos of graffiti artists, parkour free runners, break dancers and skate boarders, then you've never had the pleasure of witnessing these people show off their extraordinary skills at the annual Kings of Concrete festival.

Now in its fifth year, the festival is again taking place in the Wood Quay amphitheatre on July 3rd and 4th, this time boasting an even bigger roster of outsider artists and performers.

There will be more than 25 graffiti artists from all over Europe attending – and spraying, more than likely – as well as competitions pitting breakdancer against breakdancer, skate boarder against skate boarder, beatbox MC against beatbox MC.

Throw in demos from parkour and Capoeira practitioners and some kids cycling around on Penny Farthings, sorry BMXs, and you’ve got the makings of an exhilarating weekend. Kneepads and helmets optional. For more details, see www.facebook.com/kingsofconcrete.
