RÓISÍN BYRNE ANDCharlie Nolan were married in St Patrick's Church, Celbridge, Co Kildare on September 4th by Fr Paul Taylor. Their reception was held in the Marriott Johnstown House Hotel in Enfield, Co Meath.
Róisín grew up in Tallaght, west Dublin. She is the daughter of Jerry and Sheila Byrne and is the youngest of three children. She has one brother, Ryan, and one sister, Aisling. She went to school in Coláiste Chillian, Clondalkin and worked in various finance companies before studying accountancy in DBS, Aungier Street. She is now a qualified ACCA accountant and works as a financial manager in Smurfit Kappa Packaging Solutions, Dublin.
Her sister Aisling Gorman, along with her sister-in-law Siobhan Byrne and best friend Trish O’Callaghan served as bridesmaids. Her nephew Luke acted as pageboy.
Charlie also grew up in Tallaght, and is the son of Eamon and Mary Nolan. He has four brothers and one sister. He went to CBS Synge Street, Dublin, and worked in many areas including IT and optics. He now works as a clerical officer for Dublin City Council in housing projects around the city.
His best man was his brother Wayne Nolan and his groomsmen were older brother Thomas Nolan and best friend Des Whelan. His niece Jessica acted as flower girl.
Although the couple grew up in the same area, they did not meet until 10 years ago, in a local disco. A year later they travelled to Australia on a year-long holiday visa trip. They became engaged on Christmas Day 2007, when Charlie placed a particularly special present of an engagement ring under their Christmas tree.
They had 120 guests at their wedding. Music, with a mix of Irish and classical songs, was sung in the church by family friend Ríona Ní Shúilleabháin. Readings were done by the bride’s brother Ryan and the groom’s brother Dean. Prayers were performed by a selection of family members.
Music at the reception was provided by the Panoramicsand the celebrations with family and close friends continued until the couple left two days later on their honeymoon to Brazil, Argentina, Peru and St Lucia.
They live in Celbridge, Co Kildare.
