Andrew Rudd, the gourmet food importer and TV3 regular, is hosting cookery classes on Thursday evenings at Houseworks, the kitchen and furniture shop in Dublin's Upper Erne Street.
"The idea is to offer a one-off class to those who don't want to commit to a whole course of lessons," says Rudd. "Six recipes are covered and you'll learn how to manage time, buy ingredients, organise a kitchen and know what equipment and utensils to have."
By the end of the lesson, Rudd promises you'll have confidence to prepare a three-course meal with starter, main course and dessert.
Champagne and short demonstrations are followed by practical sessions where everyone gets to make something "with a bit of discussion and plenty of tasting". At the end, everyone sits down to eat the three-course meal together.
The class costs €95 per person and includes wine. Those taking part also get a recipe folder with step by step instructions, a 20 per cent discount on a starter pack from Kitchen Complements, a Siemens voucher, a Thai Gold food hamper and a 10 per cent discount on Magimix food processors.
Classes take place every Thursday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. See www.gourmetfood.ie or tel. 087-2579782 for more details and to book.
