Though big hair and tights were popularised in the 1980s by the likes of Cyndi Lauper, truth is they've been around for quite some time, as the Wexford Opera Festival's production of Tutti in Maschera can testify.
Though this updated telling of the Carlo Pedrotti masterpiece is set in post-war Italy, you can still expect plenty of elaborate costumes, booming voices and hairstyles reminiscent of Europe's Final Countdown video. Tutti in Maschera (Everyone in Disguise) opens this evening at Wexford Opera House (above) as part of the 57th Wexford Opera Festival, and runs until the end of the month. See www.wexfordopera.com.
