Amy Huberman was one of a group of fans who turned up for Joanne Hynes’s customer evening in Brown Thomas recently.
Hynes’s new collection introduces black leather for the first time, including figured leather dresses (€450) and some really stellar modern versions of the biker jacket, one of which, with its quilting and structured shoulderline (€520), the designer wore herself to good effect. This is a strong collection majoring on dresses, many in dark brocades (around €695), which are ideal for both evening or daywear. Coats are from €675 to €795 and have the kind of detail on the wrist or neckline that lift either a black parka or a red wool coat into something elegant and sophisticated.
