THE IRISH Tour Operators Association is advising holidaymakers to book their holidays despite the ash threat.
“Our members have noticed an increased interest in the package holiday this year. Holidaymakers recall that during last year’s disruption all package holidaymakers were well looked after,” said ITOA president Kevin Nolan. “If you have not yet booked that summer break, book it now with a fully bonded and licensed tour operator.”
ITOA is also advising holidaymakers to check their travel insurance – the small print being relevant if flights are disrupted, especially when flights and accommodation are booked separately.
“Booking with an ITOA member means that if your holiday is cancelled, you will be offered an alternative or your money back,”said Nolan. “In the unlikely event that you are unable to travel home as scheduled, you will be provided with assistance on the ground, whilst your flight is re-scheduled.”
