Mountain biking skills for womenSummit Mountain Biking is offering a women-only mountain bike skills session today at Blessingbourne, Fivemiletown, Co Tyrone. The emphasis is on learning to ride faster, smoother and with more style.
Northern Ireland elite cross country mountain biker and National Marathon XCMTB champion, Ciara MacManus, is on hand to give expert advice and fitness tips. Defying gravityToday sees the opening of Dublin's new indoor climbing wall at the Gravity Climbing Centre, 6a, Goldenbridge Industrial Estate, Inchicore, Dublin 8. The centre is state-of-the-art and is capable of hosting international competitions.
It will run inductions for novice climbers and cater for families and groups.
Induction sessions cost €20 and this includes registration fee, entry, shoe hire, 30 minutes with a coach and then stay as long as you like. gravityclimbing.ie.
Climbing competitionThe Irish Lead Climbing Championship takes place next Saturday at the Play-at-Height climbing wall in Dingle, Co Kerry. Entry for competitors is €25 (adults) and €20 (juniors). mountaineering.ie/events.
