Machu PicchuThe Oxfam Ireland Challenge fundraiser in May 2012 entails a trip to Machu Picchu, Peru. The trek requires a reasonable level of fitness and the Great Outdoors will stage a free info night next Wednesday, October 19th.

Walking festivals, October 21st-23rdThe East Clare Walking Festivaltakes place next weekend and is based in Scariff, Co Clare. The Four Seasons Walking Festivalalso takes place in Connemara next weekend. Five hotels have collaborated to offer packages from €199pps for two nights, and €299pps for three nights, inclusive of breakfast, dinner, packed lunches and guided walks. Next week’s walking weekend in Claremorris, Co Mayo consists of the Clogher Bog Loop walk on Saturday and the Moorehall Woodland Walk on Sunday. The walks’ package costs €129pps with two nights BB and one evening meal.
