George from Co Meath has lost to a Taiwanese interpreter for Tourism Queensland’s “best job in the world” – six months as caretaker of an island on the Great Barrier Reef, with a €75,000 salary. The winner, Clare Wang, got 151,676 votes. George came third, with 30,372.
